6 Nations Rugby

It is hard to express what fun it is to be back in the UK as the 6 Nations Rugby season comes along again. A great start for Wales with a great win over Scotland (causing some tensions at home!) sets Wales up for the big clash against England this Saturday.
It was a great thrill today to visit Parc y Scarlets today the wonderful new stadium for the Llanelli Scarlets. My uncle Peter Rees, a former player and Club chairman, organized a great tour which included the opportunity to meet Stephen Jones, the current Welsh flyhalf practicing his goal kicking with the Welsh legend Neil Jenkins the highest point scorer ever for the Welsh national team and the second highest of all time in the world for international rugby.

Christchurch Acadamy

Here is the link if you would like to watch 4 lectures that I gave at Christchurch Newport, a Sovereign Grace church here in the UK.
Between 100-160 people came out each night and it was a joy to see their enthusiasm and excitement about God's Word.

Who do we attract?
“Jesus’s teaching consistently attracted the irreligious while offending the Bible-believing, religious people of his day. However, in the main, our churches today do not have this effect. The kind of outsiders Jesus attracted are not attracted to contemporary churches, even our most avant-garde ones. We tend to draw conservative, buttoned-down, moralistic people. The licentious and liberated or the broken and marginal avoid church. That can only mean one thing. If the preaching of our ministers and the practice of our parishioners do not have the same effect on people that Jesus had, then we must not be declaring the same message that Jesus did.”
